The FAMU IGNITE Transfer Program lights your path to successfully earning a bachelor's degree from the beginning to the end. The program will connect you to caring advisors, compassionate professors, and successful alumni. You will have access to nationally renowned internships and professional development opportunities as well as study abroad programs and global training experiences.
The Ignite Transfer program goes beyond the statewide articulation agreement and provides increased access to students who graduate with an Associate of Arts (AA) degree from a Florida College System (FCS) Institution. This collaboration between FAMU and the FCS provides greater clarity regarding pathways to completing a bachelor's degree by guaranteeing admission and clearly outlining, via curriculum maps, the required courses for graduation or degree completion.

High school students participating in dual enrollment and other acceleration programs who are on track to earn an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from a Florida College System (FCS) or Florida State University System (SUS) institution and who do not meet the requirements of Board of Governors Regulation 6.004 may be considered for admission as either a first-time-in-college (FTIC) freshman or as a potential A.A. transfer student. At the upper-division level review, you must meet the college/school major prerequiste course and minimun grade point average requirements. Effective 2024.
Students who receive their high school diploma and participated in dual enrollment and other acceleration programs and is not on the track to earn an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from a Florida College System (FCS) or Florida State University System (SUS) institution at the same time, is required to complete the first-in-college freshman application and meet the first-time-in-college criteria for the term in which you seek admissions.
All offers of admission are tentative if you have high school or collegiate coursework in progress. Final admission is dependent on receipt and review of your final transcripts. Admission offers are subject to cancellation if your final coursework does not meet admission requirements.
Our Orientation office will contact you concerning your attendance at a one-day orientation program. At Orientation you will meet with an academic advisor who will review transferred course work and help you plan your class schedule. You will also meet with other transfer students as well as faculty and staff who can assist you as you make this important transition.
